Jeffrey L. Fannin, Ph.D.
Executive Director of the Center for Cognitive Enhancement (CCE), is devoted to the complex practice of mapping and analyzing the brain for optimal health and performance. Dr. Fannin board certified in neurotherapy and uses his experience with head trauma, stroke, chronic pain, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, depression, performance brainmapping, neurofeedback therapy, trauma recovery, brainwave entrainment and personal achievement to improve cognition in the brain and enhance mental and emotional dexterity. "Advances in technology and discoveries in brain science allows us to pinpoint individual thinking and behavior patterns. Using this information we can compare brain wave patterns to brain structure and train the brain to perform at its finest," says Dr. Fannin. "We use a four-step training process has the ability to identify individual weaknesses so people can train to improve them."
Aware of the positive impact that training the brain offers, Dr. Fannin recognizes the importance of brainwave assessments as a breakthrough technology. Dr. Fannin is accomplished in electroencephalograph (EEG), topographical brainmaps, and neurofeedback procedures. He also is seasoned in the direction and development of neurotherapathy and counseling for individuals and families, and the analysis of athletes in sports psychology and performance enhancement.
Dr. Fannin has trained on a variety of EEG equipment and brainmapping procedures. With this technology, he can capture a picture of clients' brain wave patterns and assess the electrical activity in each part of the brain. He has trained with notables in the field of neurotherapy such as: Robert Thatcher, Margaret Ayers, Jay Gunkleman, Steve Stockdale, Joel Lubar and special training in qEEG Topographical Brain Mapping from Lexicor Medical Technology Equipment, Inc.
Dr. Fannin served during the Vietnam era in the United States Air Force. He has been as an adjunct faculty member at Ottawa University, where he taught a variety of business, psychology, and research classes. His extensive studies provided an opportunity to serve for a period of time on the faculty at Walden University where he taught, trained, and mentored doctoral- and masters-level students in psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
Dr. Fannin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah, an MBA degree from the University of Phoenix, and a Ph.D. in psychology from Walden University, and specializes in neuropsychology. Shyra has been with us since she was 8-weeks old. At that time she was part of the CCI program being raised for someone in a wheelchair. She was with us for about 18 months before going back to Oceanside, California for her advanced training. After a number of weeks there it was determined that she would not become a full-fledged assistance dog and released from the program. Statistically speaking, only 40-50% of the dogs that go back for advanced training make it as an assistance dog.If a dog is released from advanced training, as puppy raisers we had the option to adopt her or allow her to be placed with a family that would like to have a wonderful dog with great breeding and exceptional training. We decided to adopt Shyra... since she has been coming to work since she was 8-weeks old, this is the life that she knows and loves.
Shyra is a great comfort to those that come to our Center. Children and adults look forward to her warm greeting and caring ways. Shyra loves to be at work and is a great asset to our team.
When you come to visit... you may encounter either Shyra or Miller... we have a very liberal vacation policy where they are concerned... Shyra and Miller trade off coming to the office about every two weeks It is not practical to have them both in the office at the same time... therefore, they trade off about every two weeks.
