What is the Center for Cognitive Enhancement?
The Center for Cognitive Enhancement (CCE) combines research and applied technology to enhance the health and performance of the brain. By using several different methods, they are able to alleviate the symptoms of an astonishing range of disorders, as well as improve personal performance. What disorders have been alleviated with CCE techniques?
Symptoms such as stress, epilepsy, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, addictions, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, TMJ, pain management, restless leg syndrome, migraines, closed head injury, stroke, and many others have all been treated at CCE.What is Biofeedback?
Biofeedback is a method of providing people with information about their minds and bodies that is not ordinarily available to them. Information about muscle tension, emotional responsivity, and body temperature is displayed on computers to help people learn more about themselves. What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback involves a similar process like biofeedback, but monitors brainwaves instead body functions. This information can then be used to help a person to improve attention, concentration, gain insight into their problems, or just relax and learn to better cope with the pressures of modern life, and the suffering and loss of enjoyment it often entails. What are the benefits of neurofeedback training?
The benefits of neurofeedback training can come in the form of being more centered and focused, calmer in social situations, improved thinking and judgment, increased work productivity, improved academic performance, being more adaptable to change, reducing levels of anxiety and depression, improved immune system, better sleep patterns and more. Are the effects of neurofeedback training permanent?
Neurofeedback training alters brainwave patterns on a near permanent basis, correcting individual stumbling blocks, which leads to overall optimal health. There are many long-term studies that have shown over 5, 10, 15 and 20 years... that neurofeedback training is effective and long-lasting.What markets does CCE serve?
ClinicalThe programs offered at the Center for Cognitive Enhancement provide a way to not only deal with the stressors, but also counter act numerous unwanted effects including stress, anxiety and depression.
EducationCCE works with schools and individual students who struggle because of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and other disorders. Some have learning disabilities such as dyslexia, others are average students that would like to do better, and some have no academic problems... they just want to be the very best they can be.
Business
The Center for Cognitive Enhancement provides a variety of services that can improve productivity; reduce the response to stress, anxiety, and depression that is so costly in lost workdays and healthcare expense.
Athletics
At the Center for Cognitive Enhancement we use the same equipment and protocols used in hospitals for extracting EEG data, we use training protocols that have been used in places like the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Yale University, University of California, the Air Force Academy, and the training center at West Point Military Academy. At West Point, nearly half of all their intercollegiate athletes participate in mental skills training.
Research
CCE continues to find interest in research that keeps us focused on understanding the elements of emotional intelligence and how it relates to personal performance and why it has been such a valuable predictor of success either at school, on the sports field, in the workplace or at home.
What is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a non-drug, non-hypnosis, therapy procedure used to treat troubling symptoms such as anxiety, depression, guilt, anger, work-related stressors, and the effects of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).What is Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography (LORETA)?
LORETA provides a true 3-dimensional tomography of brain wave activity. This information allows the neurofeedback clinician to be more effective in providing precise treatment to the area of the brain that is generating too much or too little power in a particular location, affecting emotion, behavior and/or performance.

What is QEEG Brain Mapping?
Topographical brain mapping guides the clinician in shifting undesirable brainwave frequencies to a more desirable pattern using the neurofeedback process. What is REM Sleep?
Rapid eye movement or REM sleep is a mentally active period in which dreaming occurs. Recently it was discovered that REM sleep is linked to our ability to learn and remember.
